About this project
This project involved creating an animated explainer video for the public on Osteogenesis Imperfecta, also known as brittle bone syndrome.
As the topic is quite complex and harrowing, the goal was to maintain a friendly tone without making light of the topic.
As the client’s brand guidelines were limited, the first step was creating style frames for the client to see how their assets could be implemented.
Luckily, the client was happy to push the boundaries and explore different illustration styles.
I moved in the direction of a fun 2D line style, blocks of colour, and cute characters to help lighten a heavy topic while remaining true to the condition's effects.
For the character design, it was important to understand how each of the 4 types of OI affects individuals to create accurately representative characters.
